Solar My Business (COPY)

Cut your power bill and your emissions while showing the community your green credentials.

Solar is a great business investment

Just over a third of our community’s emissions are generated by local business and 71% of these come from electricity.1 But right now there are fewer than 400 solar systems installed on local businesses – that’s just 3% of Ausgrid’s local business network.2

Many businesses are perfect candidates for solar because they mostly use power during the day, when it’s generated by the sun for free. Investing in solar not only reduces emissions, tax deductibility means paybacks are often under four years, making it the cheapest form of energy your business can access.

Introducing Powerhouse Brookvale

Brookvale is already a powerhouse for renewable energy. There are panels on car showrooms, hotels and office blocks, boutique brewers and coffee roasters.  But there is room for so much more.

If we can cover 50% of Brookvale’s suitable roofs we’ll have 70,000 solar panels producing up to 20 mW. That’s the size of a small power station.

Imagine. A clean, green, mini-power plant in the city where local businesses get paid for energy they collect from their roof; where cars and trucks are powered by the sun; where residences and businesses share energy storage; where businesses are resilient, responsible and ready for the future.

The Solar Alliance is a collaboration between Clean Energy for Eternity – Northern Beaches (CEFE NB) and Zero Emissions Solutions (ZES). We bring together community volunteers, local businesses, local media and local government, all seeking to make Powerhouse Brookvale a reality. The project is launching this February 2022, and you can find out more at the Solar Alliance website.
